Following the recent hack which saw 7,000 BTC being removed from user’s accounts, Binance has resumed a normal service. As a thank you to the customers who remained with them, they’re also giving away $1.2 million of Binance Coin (BNB), and increasing the level of all VIP customers by one.
Binance said on their official blog that all trading activity would resume at 13:00 UTC, and that “From now until the commencement of trading, users will be able to cancel open orders, process deposits and use other account related functions. Please note that the withdrawal function will be available shortly after trading resumes.”
Users will need to trade over 1 BTC to take a share of the 50,000 BNB prize pool, with the promotion period ending on 18th May 0:00 AM (UTC).
Generally the news has been very well received, and the way that the issue has been handled applauded:
CZ is a man of his word. Alleviated a stressful time for his customers with updates updates no more than 4 hour intervals. Backed up the lost funds with his own money. Remained calm in the face of adversity. Fixed problems quickly. These are all the signs of a man of integrity.

Some twitter users appear happier with this than others however:
To trade 1 btc I’ll likely spend more bnb on the trade than make from the prize pool… Smart move binance…
