Nasdaq has added the XRP Liquid Index (XRPLX) is designed to provide a real-time spot or reference rate for the price of 1 XRP, quoted in USD, and based on the most liquid ends of their markets.
The XRPLX is the latest addition to Brave New Coin’s suite of Liquid Indices Program, which also includes the Bitcoin Liquid Index (BLX) and the Etheruem Liquid Index (ELX). The XRPLX has been calculated back to August 14, 2014, so you’ll be able to view historical data on XRP back to then.
This isn’t Nasdaq’s first outing into the crypto space; they added Bitcoin and Ethereum indexes. Partnering with NZ based blockchain data and research firm Brave New Coin, the indexes were offered in February 2019. The Bitcoin Liquid Index (BLX) and the Ethereum Liquid Index (ELX) will offer “real-time” information on the Nasdaq Global Index Data ServiceSM (GIDS), its consolidated data feed, Nasdaq said.
